Issues with USB ADSL under win98

Okay Im typing this from my I-o using an Alcatel USB speed touch modem. Trouble is I keep having problems connecting. I dont know if this is do to buggy I-opener USB or changing the FSB in softfsb. Anybody have any experience with a USB dsl modem? What kind of throughput are you getting?

OK first of all doyou have the latest drivesr for the IO??? it seems to improve the USB support a bit???

next do you have the latest drivers for the dsl modem??? yes no

and lastly if your using softfsb what are you clocking the FSB at????
66 or 100 i hope other numbers have been known to give problems. espeicaly ABOVE 100.

100fsb is a 33mhz PCI buss, this is exactly what the main controler chip with the USB and IDE ect.. and every thing else it has is supose to run at

33mhz.

to be honist you should use a switch to hardwire your FSB to 100mhz and soft clock your multiplyer ifyou got a k6+ safest and least amount of soldering.
you can run any processor that comes stock ith the iopner at 100mhz FSB. the multiplyer may need to be changed though via hardware. i.e. a winchip1 wil run just fine at 2x100 with out problems. ant about a 20% increase in cpu preformance i might add also.

as for the RISC couldnt tell ya but it SHOULD run at 100mhz fsb.

even the oldest of processors I'v found to run fine and stable at 100mhz fsb.
i use to run a 100mhz pentium at 1.5x100 for 150mhz worked just fine GOT HOT and needed good cooling but ran just fine.

Yeah I have the via usb drivers and filter installed.

It turns out it might have just been a WIN98 issue with the modem. Im running it stock at 210 MHz using CKbones procedure for softFsb. I can only get the multiplier up to 70, anything higher and I lock up. Alcatel Modems (usb especially) seem to have some issues.
