Hey, quick question for you guys...

I've been searching the BBS and cant find an exact answer. If I want to use a K62P on my V5 WITHOUT soldering, I set SW 4 to open for the voltage, but how do I get the 2.5X multiplier? Any help would be appriciated....

use k6clk

its a DOS program which you can put in yoru autoexec.bat

it will run the CPU at what ever multiplyer you want BUT be wary of heat if you dont have correct cooling. as for the FSB you MUST solder a switch or short wires to the correct PADS for 100mhz fsb or its defalted to 66, OR you can run softfsb EVERY time you run the computer YAY :[ in windows and thers no manual work around as of yet.

its smarter to just do the simple soldering anways. VERY EASY. desolder a piece, hehe just hold the TIP on the small zero ohm resister till it comes free with a little bit of force, IT WILL STICK to the tip of the soldering iron.

then just get one of them mini dip switches and just tap some solder to each pad and place the jumper down in place solder to legs one on eather side of the swich, THEN solder the rest and gues waht they wont go anywheres once you do the first 2, BUT i would recomend aplying presure.

K6clk.exe won't work on a K62P, only on the + processors. You need to solder, but the soldering of the 2 dip switches required is pretty easy if you have a fine tip soldering iron, a steady hand and a little practice.

I'll be posting a new Hack in the tech ref section of the BBS this evening and will list the DIP switch settings you need.
