Service pack 2 for Win2k was posted recently. This follows Service pack 1 from a few months ago, and I.E. 5.5 which updates I.E. 5.0 (came with Win2k). These are large downloads, over 100mb each. They are worth the trouble to download. I haven't installed this SP2 yet, but will shortly. Here's the deal....post your E-Mail address and maybe I can help you get these patches. If you're using a modem, you're SOL trying to get them on your own. First 10 replies only.
Well I can report my copy of SP2 is error-free and installed without a problem, although it took almost 45 minutes(using a file backup option). This is on an I-Opener, K62-400. If you try this patch on a Winchip....be prepared for a long evening. I haven't looked very hard but so far, I can't see any differences...I didn't really have any problems to fix though. Believe it or not, the sandra CPU benchmarks improved. Anybody else want a copy of this speak up. I'll burn a few copies tonight.
