I am a newbie to the I-Opener and I had read in some older posts that it is possible to upgrade the processor without soldering. If this is true could someone please tell me how much I can juice it up to, and post some links to some retail sites in which I could buy a new amd or such and just plug it in (I own the very first model series I-opener). Many many thanks to you all this B.B. has been a great help already.

I guess the easiest way to tell what version you have is to open the case, remove the heatsink, check the name of the processor. If it says Winchip, you do have an early version. This can only be upgraded to a Winchip2 without soldering. If you want an easy upgrade, consider a Turbochip 400....a drop-in upgrade, but it requires a seperate power supply. Any other type of processor will require soldering.

Actually You Should See a "Winchip" or "Rise" CPU listed during Boot-Up, If You Tap the TAB Key.
Or are using Version_5_Patched BIOS
