Any hope for Be enet?

There were a couple threads a while back about ethernet for BeOS. People suggested wiring in an ISA slot, but some also suggested that using plex86 BeOS and Linux could both run and Linux could do ipmasq for BeOS via plex86's virtual netcard.

Is there any way to get the second option to work without the iopener slowing to a crawl. If not, does anybody know someone who knows someone who knows someone who writes Be drivers?

I think using vmware might work as well, but it would still slow the IO to a crawl.
