SODIMM Ram
Problem

I just bought some RAM modules reported to be PC100. They work OK in DOS but crash WIN98 at the second screen. The V5 I/O just locks up. I tried CAS3 in Bios setup but to no avail. Bios reports 128K. Any ideas? I know that RAM is worth what you pay for it and these cost $21 each. The maker seems to be "F1". The chip p/n is 128MSDR16MX8-7X. There are 8 RAM chips on the SODIMM.

get some software and do a memory test. make sure you are set to 10ns or slower. If you can show that there is a problem with the memory demand a refund or exchange.
