Here's a good project. I happen to have a Thinkpad with this screen. If you could get this working on an I-Opener, it would be a 100% improvement.

I agree that the display is a great one (DTI "Black Matrix" TFT with special high-contrast coatings). However, the one that is referenced by the link is the 1st-generation 640x480 display.

The 2nd-generation 800x600 display used on some models of the 755cx, 760l and 760ld is the one to target for the I-Opener. That one has a part number of 85g0500 or 85g0507 or similar. Typically, this display comes installed in the top-half with the contrast potentiometer (slider) set at about half and no user access to the contrast control. I have a TP 755cx with this display, and I haven't ever seen a display with a better combination of brightness and contrast.

Thanks for the link - I have a boatload of older Thinkpads with the older Hitachi TFT display (which is also very nice and bright, but does not have the same contrast specs as the DTI unit), which I may consider upgrading with this display.
