QNX with Badflash bios?
On a v5 io, will the v2 qnx-sandisk image work with the Badflash bios?

Situation: have a v5 (date 2000/09/15, rise cpu, no yamaha, no goop), and have replaced the stock io bios chip with a badflash chip. IO runs fine from hd using either qnx or linux (debian & turbo), and runs jailbait fine (except for kaweth usb ethernet) from the sandisk.
I loaded the v2 qnx image onto the sandisk. When I boot it I get a mouse-pointer arrow in the upper-left corner of an otherwise blank screen. A control program is running because this arrow can be moved by the mouse. Also, after about 15 seconds, the green 'on-line' light comes one, and it tries to dial an 800 number.
During the boot-up and after the arrow appears, I tried tab-4444 (and other combinations), to get it to open up a text control window, but none of these key-ins work. What is the correct code to get to text control? Also, after getting control, the root password should be osiw$6.4 , or will it be something else?

solarity,

I don't think anyone has ever gotten into QNX on a V5 !!!
I see You swapped the BIOS. Maybe There were more changes in the V5 than just the Sound Chip ?
(But maybe that is enough to Puke the V2 QNX)

I would suggest You would be better starting from scratch ! with QNX.

I am not sure why You are trying this ? You seem to have plenty of other Good Choices Working.

I know the Search Function is pretty bad,
But there doesn't seem to be many people hanging out here lately.

Your other Choice is to Wait for a Better Answer ! Good Luck ! * StarFish *

I'm a little lost here. The purpose of the QNX flasher was to allow you to boot from the hard drive and flash the bios to one that would allow a normal boot. You can do that. You can now wipe out the sandisk and put whatever you want in it.

What do you want to do?
