PPP session times out inexpicably

I've got two V1 i-Openers that I'm finally getting around to hacking. I've
reconfigured one to dial my own ISP and can telnet/FTP/etc. but the dialup
connection dies after ~60 seconds online no matter what I'm doing (traffic
or no traffic, pings, or FTP.) Makes it a little hard to FTP the jailbait
image.

No mention of this in any of the FAQs on the various sites. Grep through
the scripts in /rc and find a line in startup saying 'wait 60' and then
starting updated. Hmm...

I've killed updated already but maybe it's doing some kind of a sanity
check. Change the line (by copying /rc/startup to /app/ztest/startup where
it can be edited) to wait 9999. Reboot. Nada. Doesn't start QNX at all.
No mouse, nothing.

I'm pretty much resigned to borrowing a drive & cable from a friend at this
point, but thought I'd ask if anyone else has ahd PPP disconnects under QNX.

Thanks...

If there's an answer to this on the BBS it'll probably be in the old bbs posts section, as you are dealing with a V1, and doing something that I doubt very many people have done in a LONG time..
