Gang,
I just installed the latest bios available from Badflash. On a clean install of win98se and then installing the yamaha drivers I lose the sound on my V1. I couldn't solve the problem by uninstalling the yamaha drivers. But reformatting the drive and then installing win98se and letting it install it's own driver the sound works. I have the same bios in my V4, but left the exiting install on its drive. Sound works fine on it. It's a small, slightly annoying problem, because I had to reformat twice to realize what to do about. Has anyone else seen this problem?

I rebuilt my daugthers v5 a week or two ago and it totally didn't occur to me that you are NOT supposed to used the wdm drivers with SE, because they don't work.. I was getting rather frustrated before I realised what I had done, went and wiped off any trace of the wdm drivers and installed the nonwdm ones..

Ragnar.....Installing the Yamaha drivers is a little tricky.....You install the drivers, reboot, then go into device manager, find the reference to the Yamaha driver, update driver, then point it to the temp folder where the Sax stuff ended up. reboot again and you should be using the Yamaha driver. Sometimes the DMA will conflict with the printer port, but you can then change the DMA# to get everything working. This process has worked on the three I-Os
