Do USB powered speakers work on a i-opener running win98, 3gb harddrive?? I am also about to purchase a USB hub from comgeeks...what limitation/compatibilty issues should I take into coinsideration when dealing with USB stuff and the i-opener. With a USB hub can I hook up as many usb periphials as I want, etc??? Thanks for any help...I am pretty new to this.
USB-powered speakers work well with the Iopener. As for Hubs, some have said that unpowered hubs do not work with the I-Opener, but I have a hub that has its own, optional power supply, and I can operate my USB speakers and USB NIC at the same time WITHOUT the hub's power supply.
I'm a bit confused. When you say "USB powered speakers" are you talking about speakers that get their power from the USB port but require separate audio connections or are you talking about speakers that get power AND audio signals through the USB port?
Given that an (unmodified) iOpener doesn't have audio I/O jacks, the first type seems useless. The second type makes lots of sense, but I have yet to see anything like it for a reasonable price. Any suggestions?
