Ok my keyboard port died...could be because of my hacking.
I haven't tried to trouble shoot it yet, ie checking for 5v etc. but the rest of the 5v items on the computer work. I also haven't tried a mouse yet in the port...
Is there anything like a fuse on a keyboard port?
Could I have damaged the keyboard controller and nothing else, or is it all normally integrated into the chipset?
Where do I start looking (in general terms)?
The machine boots up fine, no errors, works normally, just no keyboard.
(already tried a different keyboard...same results)
