Configuring Linux for No Floppy
Configuring Linux on the Iopener

OK, I Picked up an Iopener v4, Installed a new Badflash v5 Bios, 2.5" drive, 3-In-1 Board, Lazagana cooler, 128M Ram.

I installed Mandrake 8.0 on the drive, but it keeps complaining that it can't find the Floppy drive.

Which files in Linux do I need to look at to remove references to unused hardware?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated :)

Sounds like you need to comment out the /dev/fd0 line in /etc/fstab.

/etc/fstab is the file that tells linux what to mount on bootup.

Since I don't use X-windows often, I'm not sure if there is anything else you would need to change.

Sort of sounds like there might be a cron job that periodically checks for the floppy drive.

You could also try running kudzu to see if it will remove the reference to the floppy.
