Ok, well I'm actually not doing this on my I-Opener yet, but I want to attempt to install suse linux on my harddrive of a thinkpad 755c (486). I can't get X to run on it, because it's old as hell and 640x480 screen. I want to see if suse will sence the screen and take all the guess work out. Nothing has worked so far. I've tried Redhat 6.3-7.2 and can't figure out x configurations for it?

Do I drop the contents of the install cd onto the harddrive or somehow make and iso image?
Then I made a rawwrite image, but when it gets to the harddrive installation area it asks for a area where I let it put /dev/hda1
then asks for the location? which is autoset to /cdrom...I've tried erasing that and making it blank, putting /c or /c/suse or /suse hell I just don't know what to do..
or am I barking up the wrong tree..is it looking for the iso image...I wouldn't think so?

Thanks guys...need help,

Johnson

P.S. if someone has a XF86Config for a Thinkpad 755c PLEASE SEND IT MY WAY!!
