Thanks for the link. But now I am not sure that it is specifically the memory socket. Whether I use a 32mb, 64mb, or 128mb memory stick, the iopener and sandra will report only 16,384 + 2048 shared memory kbs. I have gone over all the socket solder points using a magnifying glass and they look good. I have cleaned the socket with isopropyl alcohol. I have used high pressure air to clean it. I cleaned the contacts on the memory sticks. Nothing seems to work. Jack at Badflash.com suggested that it might have to do with memory address lines. Would this be something in the bios? I have a couple of spare bios chips. I will try them, though since I have reflashed them, I don't know if they are identical to the one in the iopener right now. More testing, it seems. Oo la.  | |
