Iopener Freezes, please help

My Iopener keeps freezing on me, in both Windows ME and Redhat 7.1.

I believe its a V3/V4 (came with the Rise MP6, no goop, and Yamaha sound)

I have a laptop drive, a K62+450 (no hardware hack, just dip switch change for voltage) and a 128MB sodimm.
I am NOT running any clock multiplier software.

any ideas what the problem could be? Is there a new version of the BIOS that I could use?
