How are people installing Windows on I-Opener drives? Are they installing it on the laptop drive with their DESKTOP and then moving the drive over to the IO? Thanks.

Place hard drive in desktop using a 3.5 to 2.5 adapter. Format it using the command "format c:/u/s". MD C:\WinXX. Copy cabinet files to this directory. Copy all other drivers needed. Move hard drive to iopener.
Turn iopener on. You may need to auto-detect the hard drive in the bios. Boot to C:. Change to C:\WinXX. Run set up. Do your homework for the rest. Use the search function. Happy Hacking.

A tip to save yourself lots of trouble: Store an expanded copy of your Network Adapter's driver on the hard-drive before moving it over. There's nothing more frustrating than getting the Win Installation 95% complete, and having to disassemble everything to drop the drive back onto the desktop to copy this "one last" driver-file.

we went through the whole procedure in i-opener general posts with wolves "two new i-openers, what do i do with them" over the last week or so. i even list where to find the chipset, display and modem drivers for ver5 i-o.
have fun

Hi oldman-
Thanks for the tip! I'm actually using one of the older V3 IO's with the gooped BIOS, but boots to a _BLACK_ I-opener welcome screen. I will take a look at the other posts and modify accordingly :) Thanks
