Gang,
On one of my V5s I could never find a memory module that would work reliably at above 225mhz. This was with the dropping resistor mod. On any chip 32mb, 64mb, 128,mb and 256mb the iopener would always freeze up after running a few minutes. I was ready to give up on this particular machine. I had a spare 3.3V-1.8V datel laying around so as a last resort I put it in this machine. Booted right up at 225mhz. I used k6clk to warp to 450mhz. Lo and behold, it has ran for over two hours and NO lockup. I am only using a 12V lasagna fan power with only 5Vs for cooling. REAL QUIET! CPUINFO max temp with an unmodified case is cpu 125F and MB 124F. I need to install a switch to set the fsb higher and will let you know what speed I can get to. But right now, I am one happy camper with this particular V5. I may not get to 600mhz, but with this machine I can live quite comfortably at 450mhz. And to think that I was ready to sell this machine for $25. Sometimes life will throw you one right down the middle!! ;o)
