Unstable memory?
why is my 128MB stick causing freezes?

I really need help:

When using my stock memory in my V4(I think) iopener, my computer runs fine even though I have a K6-2+ installed with just the dip switch change.

But when I put in a 128MB module from PNY with 8 chips, it will boot and run for a little bit, but then crash after a while.

What is the problem? is the memory bad or is it because the MB gets too hot?

What is your fsb set to? In one of my V5s I have the same problem. Of all the possible settings the only you that is stable is 75mhz, setting the first two switches on and the second two off on sw2. With this setting and a multiplier of 6 I can get to 450mhz. But this is the limit with this machine.
