i was wandering about this flat screen....

i was thinking that this flat screen connector on the i-opener is just a regular flat screen, and the connector that attaches to its "motherboard" could be spliced onto a regular 15 pin VGA connector from an old monitor and used as a cheap solution to a flat panel monitor. Has anyone fiddled with the output of the connector on there yet?

Already been done my friend. Check out VGA-out in the search feature above...There is a header on the board that can be wired into a VGA connector, you get VGA-OUT, add flat panel with VGA connector. Simple right? Yup. BUT, a few of us are trying to get the I-Opener to accept a TFT by "hacking" the BIOS, plus the actual display chip so that a TFT can be attached to the I-O directly. Plus, any old TFT can be bought with a VGA plug for around $300. But when you consider that older TFT screens caan be had for as little as $30 on ebay, were looking at a big savings.

I think he means that you could take the screen from the iopener and use it as a monitor on another computer...but no, that wouldn't work.
