I've been keeping up-to-date with all my computers running XP...no problems so far. I do not use the driver updates however. I think driver updates are best gotten off the respective manufacturers sites. Most of the time a MS driver, printer drivers for sure, lack functionality compared to a "real" driver.
The other thing is I do not use System Restore. Just don't trust it. I use Drive Image on all my computers. It has never failed me yet.
