| I am trying to help someone setup a replacement iOpener, for one that was fried by lightning. When I try to enter "Preferences" to set up the unit I get a message about the ID number being unavailable. From what I've read here that means some flash device needs to be reprogrammed? The new iOpener is an iOpener 2001, but all references seem to be to V1, V2, V3, V4, or V5. Which V Number corresponds to the iOpener 2001. I disassembled the original unit but decided it was cheaper to purchase another than to try to repair the thing. Is there any work around for the missing ID number besides reprogramming? If I have to disassemble the new unit I think I will try to return it instead.
Any help would be very appreciated.
