Flash BIOS w/ a MSI Mobo?
Is it possible for me to cold flash my V5 with my MSI Motheboard?

I recently aquired a V5 IO on ebay. Since I can not get into the BIOS or a root prompt in QNX I need to flash my BIOS. I have a MSI K7T Pro2 motherboard which has a 32 pin PLCC Award BIOS chip. I have an extra BIOS chip for this specific motherboard. I was wondering if it is possible to boot up on this motherboard with the extra BIOS chip, then flash that chip with the latest image from wild_pencil. Then I would shut down after I flashed it and put the extra BIOS chip in the IO. Is this at all possible to do? Will the award BIOS chip from that motherboard work okay on the IO? Thanx

It is Cheaper to Buy it From BadFlash, than take the Risk !

You have to get Your MotherBoard Booted up.
If your second BIOS will do that, then You can Cold Flash,
But If it won't Boot MB, then You have to HotFlash !

If You Post the info on Your Target BIOS,
Someone might be able to tell You If it is Compatible ???
If it isn't You Could Ruin Your MB !

The Risk are Yours.

Please verify that I am reading this correctly, you are going to boot up a PC with the same style BIOS chip, then flash it with the wild_pencil bios, shut the PC down. Then you are going to put that BIOS into the I-opener. If I read this correct, then none of this will be done HOT, all bios chip removal and install will be done with both MB's power off... If that is the case then this should work correctly. It would be the same effect as badflashing a BIOS with the incorrect xxx.BIN file. This should not damage either MB since the new flash will not take effect until reboot, and you are not planning on booting the MB again after the flash. I beleave the warnings were for HOT swapping the BIOS chips.
