Detecting suspend mode

I was thinking about trying to rig the case fan to turn off when the IO is in suspend mode, but cannot find any simple methods to detect it. Anyone have any ideas?

Only theory.

The LCD backlight is controled by APIC, right? NOw put in a relay in the circut and when the LCD is on the CPU fan is on.

Good idea. I don't think I want to grab the direct backlight power, so I'll have to hunt for the source before the transformer. Time to dig through my DC circuits again.
