In another post, WildPencil mentioned that his Yahoo account was getting hammered. I have moved a copy of the V540 BIOS to http://ITResource.com/V540.zip

WildPencil, hopes this helps.

If there is enough interest in mirroring more files, let me know.

Contact me and I'll send you a copy of the V540A with the K6+ support. You should post that too.

I have one question on the latest bios release. what mode is the Memory-Interleave set to? I keep it at the setinit4. also what extra things have been added to the bios for the k6 support? the first thing I noticed was correctly displaying what kind of a processor is in the system. But does it support other features as well? I'd love to see a full write up on what has been done exactly to improve the bios in v450a

If I recall, the Interleave is set up in 4x mode, this is done through the BIOS Patch.

For the file repository, the file I'm most interested in getting mirrored is the AnyISP QNX image. It's 8MB .bz2 compressed, and is the one that is hammering my Y! briefcase. The BIOS files aren't so bad.

Wild_Pencil, I have a copy of the AnyISP image on a new site. Jack over at BadFlash supplied me with these last week. Also many other images, tools, bios versions and whatnot. The AnyISP images is zipped up and is about 7.71MB.

I figured that since there aren't many archives around where people can get most of the basics in one place I'd set something up. Disk space should not be an issue so if you'd like to have anything else available let me know. Use the "Contact Us" link on the site.

Nice site.

While I appreciate and understand your desire to encourage users to join your Forums, I must respectfully disagree with requiring users to log into the site before being able to access the (much hyped) download section.

Thanks. I'm currently working on a new design although have no idea when it'll be done. I mainly wanted to get the site up and running so didn’t spend much time on its layout.

I don’t see any problem having to login in order to access the downloads (the sites main section) or to add comments to any of the news articles/updates. It only a username, email address and password that’s required. I even setup the new user page so that you can enter a password so you don’t have to enter a valid email address. By default it required you to enter a valid email address so a generated password would be emailed to you. I've had a number of bounced emails from people who used user_nospamATdomain.com type addresses which is fine. Also, by having people login it allows me to admin the site better against any abusers (none of which I've had yet thankfully).

If you have a problem with it I'm sorry. Viewing server logs shows that 9 out of 10 visitors didn’t have a problem with it as they signed up. Its noted that in order to 'post' to these forums (the main section of this site) I had to signup and login.

Also, you described the Downloads section as being "much hyped"? Could you explain why you thought it so? It truly wasn’t my intention to hype anything and would like to know if something needs to be changed. Since this really isn’t the place to continue this feel free to email me out of the forums as I'm interested in correcting this if needed. My email is in my profile. Thanks.

I agree with Badflash; the file download section should be accessible without log-in.
The only reason for requiring log-in SHOULD be: to participate (write comments) in the forum, the same as for this BBS.
