LCD Screen

Has anyone ever just used the LCD screen as a video out for another computer or just any ole' A/V jack? I wanna use the screen in my car if anyone has a scheme for that it would be nice, second question is can i flash my V1 bios with the new 5.4? Thanks.

Yes, the V540A woorks on any iopener, and no, I know of no hack that allows the use of the iop screen for anything but an iopener. There are plenty of controllers out there, but finding the right one and being able to make up a cable to match is quite a project.

I'd dearly love to be able to convert these screens to monitors, but have had no luck so far.

I know with all the geniuses here, you guys can come up with something that will allow us to use either the iopener screen with other motherboards, or laptop screens with other motherboards. Let me know when you figure it out.

I think I might have a fix to this. In the IO's case, attach a ide-pcmcia control socket to the IO. (YES THEY EXIST and you'll need a double connection ide cable if you're using the hard drive) Now get a pcmcia capture card. Pop that in and run it in real-time and full screen mode and there ya go. I have not tried this myself but I think it will work. Just a little thought. If anyone tries this tell me how it works.
