Last night I powered up my I-opener just for kicks after its been sitting in the closet for a year and a half. I remember it crashing often when I used it as an MP3 jukebox with Win98 SE as an OS. I decided to install a new OS and winME was the only one that would work without any trouble. WinXP kept rebooting again and again while win2K never did anything on power up. WinME seems much more stable than Win98 SE ever was.
The video driver worked fine as well as the USB connection. No sound comes from the headphone jack like it did with Win98 SE. My bios is probably an older rev4 version and I cant remember if I had to install a Yamaha sound driver when I installed Win 98 SE a year and a half ago in order to get it to work.
I have not installed the 4-in-1 driver yet. Maybe that will make the sound work. All the Yamaha driver sites are dead links so I have given up on finding that driver.
