Replacing Modem

I just bought two I-Openers, and were planning on making them into a caller-id/digital picture frame box like my Webplayer version I made last year. However, in reading on here I see that the modem isn't caller-id capable. Anyone know if the modem in the I-Opener can be replaced with a modem from a Webplayer? I've got two more webplayers that I have other plans for that don't include using the modems, so they're just spare parts now.

as long as there TTL based, and not running through a max235 chip. you have BUT to match up the wires. THATS IT. only put rs232 with rs232 and ttl with ttl. unless you got a converter in between (max235). you have but to find the info on the modems and the pinouts of the connectors.

Well, all I did was unplug the I-Opener modem from the motherboard, put the new one on the same pins, and hooked up the wires and it works great!
