Win2k drivers?

I thought I read about there being Windows 2000 drivers for all the internal hardware for an i-opener. Can't remember if it was here, or in the webplayer section.

But anyhow, are there win2k drivers for an i-opener version 5?

http://www.viaarena.com/?pageID=300.

The latest VIA drivers work best with all the latest versions of Windows, but not always with older hardware.

have fun,

Has anyone installed windows 2000 on an i-opener? Via harddrive or another way?

What I want to know is, are there windows 2000 drivers for the sound and everything else?

mscdex:

the input/output and sound are VIA. Trident no longer has drivers for the Cyberblade I-7.

since win2k is derived from winNT, the old drivers may not work, but have you tried?

trying the old modem driver and trident driver plus the new VIA drivers would be a place to start.

you can search on Google for Trident Cyberblade I7 to see if any computer company such as NEC, Sony, Compaq or Packard Bell have newer Trident drivers. All of those mfg's have used the I7.

have fun,

I tried installing windows 2000 on it via a hard drive, and it just seems to lock up after it copies everything and reboots. It locks up right at the point where after it reboots it configures things like network stuff, etc. Anyone have any luck going about it a different way of installing?

Hello from my old IOpener.

I found it while cleaning out the garage and decided that it would be a nice extra web browsing terminal. I formatted the HD and installed Win2k with no issues. I haven't even hit windows update yet. The vid is fine, the sound works, usb wifi, etc all good. I did have to steal the 128 from my laptop to install it (64MB min to install 2k) but I put the 32 back in after I was done and it works fine. It also runs winamp connected to my stereo just fine (I did the audio / serial hack a long time ago.)
