What are these new screws holding it together?

I've tried every size torx driver known to man. I even started trying to drill them out, but these screws are mighty tough.

Anybody know what tool I need to get into this thing? The screws look like torz screws, they're 6-pointed stars, but I can't get them out....

Thanks,
fnord

They are security torq screws, they have a pin in the center. The special drivers
are standard torq but with a hole in the center. Check around you can find them.
Some times you can break the pin off and use a common torq, but not always.
Good luck.

In addition to the security pin, the threads may also be coated with a blue epoxy (possibly loctite) to hold it secure.

Torx 'security' bits will easily open them *if* the head has not been damaged.

These were last-gasp efforts by Netpliance to prevent hacking.

I used a little flat blade screwdriver on mine. I wedged the blade between the center pin and the side and it worked like a charm. After the loctite was broken free the screws were a lot easier to put in and take out.
