I just got a ver 1 yesterday from ebay. I'm pretty sure it's a ver 1. There was no torx screws, no epoxy, it had the Winchip 180 CPU, and no switch block at SW1. Now, it looks like the BIOS has been updated from Netpliance. It boots to the white I-Opener background screen, the last emails on it were from mid 2001 I think. I'm pretty sure I need to get a different BIOS to use a HD if the Netpliance BIOS update disabled that.
To use a K62+ CPU I'll need to put a switch block in SW1 correct?
Most of the rest I've got an idea of what to do from reading these boards. I'm mostly looking for who is still around these boards to ask for help when something comes up. :) | |
