Does anyone know the spec of the phillips digital picture frames (or simmilar) as I want to know if i can put gnu/linux on it (if it's not allready there).

I can't find any detailed information regarding the type of motherboard or cpu or any hardware specific information whatsoever beyond "It's got a lovely screen"

Any tips would be appreciated!

Thanks

I would love to see you accomplish your goal! I'm totally of the same mind. It would be great to see someone put linux on one of these things - in somewhat of the same manner as iPod linux or rockbox! What a perfect platform for uCLinux or something - it's like a small single board computer with a nice display, complete with usb and memory card ports. I'll bet that with keyboard driver you could use it for light websurfing. And wouldn't it be great to get mPlayer or VLC on this? I have a Pandigital 7" DPF70-1. As is, it can play MP3s, MP1s, and DivxMP4 files. Cheers!
