Have you done something cool, unexpected, and/or creative with a piece of hardware? Or software for that matter, we don't care. Come to Notacon and show it off, meet like-minded hackers, and enjoy the presentations.
Oh, and enter the contests! I (Myself) run one called "Anything but Ethernet", and you can probably tell by the name, it gets pretty weird. The object is to get data from point A to point B by the silliest route possible. If robotic semaphore and IP-over-hydraulics sound like fun, you're my kind of hacker.
This year we're also hosting Blockparty, a north american demoparty. (Don't worry if you've never heard of the demoscene, it's fun and there'll be some intro talks to bring you up to speed!) Presentation topics include grid computing, green energy, 8088 assembly programming, hacking the job market, and many more.
If this tickles your sense of creativity, come on out! It's so much fun, you'll forget you're in Cleveland. All the details are at www.notacon.org, and we have forums so you can arrange ride-share and room-share if you're so inclined.
