Anyone in the Triangle doing this?

Of Course! Just got my box via CUSA, played around in QNX some, haven't
tried to crack the case yet, but can see goop on the BIOS through the
memory door. I'll set up a related mail address when I get home and
repost.

Ok got one set up. Send mail to
iopener@nc._EEK_rr.com if you want to discuss
this stuff. So far, I haven't done much,
just poked around in QNX. I will only check
this once a day or so, so it won't be
immediate feedback. Offer is open to other
RTPers too. Remove _EEK_ from address.

Yeah, I'm going to be playing with this- picked up my Iopener yesterday in Raleigh. Another guy was behind me in line picking up his units. I'll send an email to the address shown above and we can get a little "reply to all" mailing list set up.

I had one on order with npliance ... I have the 2.5" 9.5 mm HD, IDE adaptors/headers, USB NIC, but no I-Opener. :( Does C-USA have any in stock now? I'm in Durham if you want to forward this on to any other NC/Triangle folks. If I don't get an I-O from C-USA, I'll probably like to sell the hacking accessories I have already.

Here's what I have in it (not incl shipping - all parts are new, un-opened and un-used):

1 4.8 GB Fujitsu 2.5" 9.5 mm IDE disk - $160
1 Linksys 10/100 USB NIC - $38
2 2" 44 pin IDE connectors for making cable adaptor - $15
1 3.5" -> 2.5" ide adaptor... $15 (I'd probably keep this)

$200 takes everything except the 3.5"->2.5" adapter...my decision to sell this stuff depends on the interest out there. Email me if this sounds good to you. :)

Ordered 3/20 - STILL WAITING CC told me today no guess as to when. 23 on order - "could not tell me" where I was on the list. I know there were 6 on order when I paid for mine.

Looked for stuff to modify it with at the hamfest Sunday - not much there -worst turnout I can remember.

RTP IOpener enthusiasts:

OK, I've assembled a hand-operated mailing list of those that emailed me directly at iopener@nc.rr.com. I'll be sending out a mailing soon describing the particulars. If you'd like to be added to the list, and haven't already sent me mail, send email to that effect to iopener@nc.rr.com.

Anyone know of any good retail electronics stores in the Triangle? Thanks.

I've heard that Intrex is good for computer things. If you mean components, most
of those places that I was familiar with disappeared. Jameco and Digikey online
are probably your best bets.

Anybody found any 2mm laptop cables/connectors in stock in the RTP area.
Most mail order stores have several week waiting on these items.

If you are late joining the RTP/NC list as described above, tell me if you want me to send you the previous digests also when you subscribe: iopener@nc.rr.com
They aren't THAT special, but may contain useful information for the area.
