The CompUSA in Boulder was filling some pre-orders last week.

The sub-pukes at the front desk will tell you that they won't be
getting any until June 5. But if you get someone higher up (uber-pukes?),
and say "Give me an IO or give me my money", guess what? They
just happen to have some in the back.

Mine was a V2. Had the BIOS out and re-flashed in about 30 minutes.
I've done the acer123 mods to nvram, so now it dials my ISP.

sodomizer,

Are you willing to help 'hacking' the IO for me?
I live in boulder.

TIA.

Well, almost all of the CircuitCity stores had I-openers Friday morning.
They were all gone by Friday evening.

So, why are you all hiding? Don't be bashful!

I helped alex do his I-opener and we've talked about a club in the
Boulder area ( Boulder I-opener Club, BIC ). Is anyone interested?

I don't have one yet, but hoping to grab one off E-Bay unless anyone can suggest a better method. Can the original iOpener still be purchased new? I'm in the Boulder area and would be interested in a Boulder Iopener club...

I purchased an IO a few months ago (online).
But have not hacked it yet.

I would like to get more information about
this new group.

I too am in Boulder.

I'm in Boulder also. I've done 5 I-openers, one with a built-in
USB Ethernet adaptor (D-link). Haven't done any of the newer ones
that don't have the Yamaha sound chip though.

I have access to an EMP-10 flash programmer, reprogramming the IO's
flash for version 1.0 has not been a problem. JB Saunders near
Valmont and Foothills has the parts for making the IDE cable. Two
connectors and the cable is about $7.

I also have one of the 2.5 inch to 3 inch adapter cards for formatting
and loading the 2.5 inch HD on a desktop machine.

PS - Yes, you can by the "new" IOs at Circuit City. They probably will not
have the Yamaha sound chip and run about $300, so Ebay might be better for
getting one.

Still hanging around.....
Have one IO with Win2K acting as a modem/router.
The other has RedHat Linux.
The Epods "forgot" it's mod again, so that's on the list of things to fix.
Nice that we finally have some rain...
