I have recently had my i-opener kit ordered and mailed to me, The 44-pin cable i have recieved is for the i-opener to the hard drive, but the hard drive i have is a 48-pin. the other 4 pins are for power and i was wondering if anyone knew where i could get power from for the hard drive on the mother board or somewhere internally. if some one has a description of what it looks like or the name of the place on the board it would be nice to have and thanks for any input i can recieve.
The additional 4 pins are not power see http://www.l8r.net/technical/t-ide.shtml . Power for notebook drive travels through the 44 pin cable. I think you are looking at the Master/Slave and Reserved jumper area.

i have also mounted a fan to the processor and i need to know where i can get 12v power from and i dont care for the points about having it on all the time because im thinking of just putting a switch in somewhere on the outside just to make it simple. Thanks for the details on the other four pins, i thought they were separated from the rest of the pins because the were power but that link explains it all.ComputerN0.4
