USB Conflict - Drivers needed
Wireless USB adapter disables USB Mouse

Just got a Virgin webplayer. Prior owner installed hard drive with W98. Boots off the hard drive. Nice unit.

I installed a USB Mouse. 98 had the drivers.

I tried to instal an old linksys USB wireless addapter (WUSB11), earliest edition. Downloaded their driver package through dial up. Ran the install routine with the adapter unplugged. Plugged it in and two things happened: Mouse was disabled and OS found but did not recognize device. Couldn't find the drivers.

Mouse works after reboot with WUSB removed.

Uninstalled the WUSB drivers.

Now the OS asks for PCP Bridge drivers and for Conexant RC56D2 Serial Modem drivers. I found that the RC56D2 is an external 56k modem with V.90. Prior owner never had it installed.

Dial up works fine.

Any cures or suggeastions? BTW, I can upload my original WUSB CD ROM contents to my web site and download to the webplayer.
