How can I get files on the DOC?

Dusted off the webplayer today...wanted to make a digital picture frame out of it. This webplayer is running 98 lite on the DOC, with no hard drive. I need to get the drivers for my USB wireless adapter onto the DOC. I tried putting the drivers on a compact flash card and hooking my USB reader up to the webplayer, but the webplayer won't recognize the reader without drivers.

I also have a websurfer, and I tried putting the DOC in that to transfer the files. Problem is the DOC is compressed, so the websurfer only sees ~2mb of free space, but there's 25mb free space compressed.

Anyone have any ideas?

Is there any way you can dial-up to the internet from your webplayer?
If yes then just put the files someplace on-line using anther computer then download them to your webplayer.

Otherwise you'll have to get a laptop drive and put it into another computer, copy the files to the laptop drive, then install that drive on the ide header of the webplayer and you should be able to see the drive (and files) from withing Windows. Copy them to the DOC and remove the drive.

Try to get the driver to fit on the 2MB uncompressed DOC - it can be accessed from the webplayer (as drive G or D or something.)

I posted an article on how to make a DOC card for a PC using an old ISA network card. It involved soldering a coupule of wires onto the card an dplugging the DOC into the Boot Rom socket. If you run windows 98 the drive then appears as another disk drive. I think there are M-Sys drivers available for windows 2000 and XP too.
