I would like to put a standard CD-ROM in my Web Player,

I need to if the webplayer's 44 pin ide connector has 40 pins data, 2(+- 5V), 2(+- 12V). If someone with a voltmeter could check, it would be great.

Also, If anyone knows whether you can find a mini pci "pcmcia bay", that would rock. PCMCIA cards for the web player would really enhance it's usefullness.

And if anyone has placed any compact flash onto the board, or used a compact flash NIC, etc...
Is the VGA CONN a standard VGA? (pin outs the same?)
Or if anyone has hooked up a floppy to it (USB or otherwise)

I know that this isn't going to fit into the virgin case, but I have something else in mind (a nice stained wood case with chrome switches.. I'll put a pic of it up eventually)

Please post any info that you may have

Carl

If you're going to use "a nice stained wood case with chrome switches" as you say, then why bother with this particular motherboard at all? Grab a used standard mini motherboard with comparable specs (200 mHz, etc.) at around $25 and use that -- you'll have much better expandibility, etc. Then sell off your Webplayer on eBay for $150-185, and pocket the difference, or use that profit to further expand your new project. Doing what you're suggesting, on the other hand -- i.e., gutting the Webplayer, taking its motherboard, putting it in an entirely new custom case, and adding the CD-ROM, etc., at that point -- really seems pointless since there are better and practically free motherboards out there that will do a far, far better job for you.
