To use Earthlink, you need to follow this advice whether you are using the Webplayer's original QNX platform in accordance with my original instructions, or whether you have installed Famewolf's Embedded Win98, or whether you are using a full hard drive. In order to use Earthlink, no matter how you've hacked your Webplayer, you must do the following:

Insert the characters ELN/ (i.e., the three letters and a forward-slash) before your login username.

So, for example, if you're Earthlink login is "virginhacker" and your email address is "virginhacker@earthlink.net", you would use the following as your login username:

ELN/virginhacker

Note that you do not include the "@earthlink.net" after this login username.

Finally use the following information for your DNS settings -- again, no matter if you're following my instructions for QNX, or using Famewolf's Embedded Win98, or doing the hard drive hack. The DNS settings are:

207.217.77.82
207.217.120.83
earthlink.net

You should have no problems using Earthlink if you follow this!

Randy thanks for the tips!

Before posting this I went through the entire list but did Not find anything listing which major ISPs will work with the webplayer. Is there anyplace we can find this out?

koaptec, well there's no list. All of the major paid (i.e., not free) ISPs should work except for AOL and Compuserve2000. Remember that AOL and Compuserve2000 depend upon proprietary access software.

Also remember that if you install the Embedded Win98 to the DOC, or if you install a hard drive with the full installation of Win9x, you can use the ISP of your choice -- including any free ISP such as NetZero or your choice.

If you're using the stock QNX OS per my original instructions, you should certainly be able to use Earthlink, Mindspring, or any other mainstream ISP (again, except AOL or Compuserve2000).

Oops, I did forget to add that MSN customers are having difficulty because of the length of the passwords. Looks like the Virgin QNX software limits usernames and passwords to 16 characters.
