Downloadable USB mouse driver possible?

Wasn't the original intent that the WebPlayer be able to be "flash updated" to enable the USB ports? Thought that never happened, is it possible that someone far more clever than I might be able to make this happen via a posted file somewhere? The only reason I don't use the thing more, is that I feel like I'm steering a bus, every time I navigate around the screen. What "magic" might be involved in flashing one of these things over a dial-up connection?

Thanks - and thanks to Randy and all the others who brought these otherwise dead things back to life!
