I have taken the case off the webplayer, I have located the 44pin ide connecter. I have used an adapter that lets you hook a laptop HD into your PC and I used it in reverse. The adapters 44pin female connection is hooked to the 44pin male connecter on the board. The 40 pin male connecter of the adapter is hooked to a standard 40 pin cable. The 40pin cable is wired to a 3.5" HD. I have an extra PC power supply for power to the 3.5" HD.

I turn on the HD, boot up the Webplayer, Press the "book" (F2) key and enter the password,

It does not detect the HD under the Main setting...

I go into I/O Device Config, Local Bus IDE adapter, and choose [Primary],

I set Installed O/S to [Win95] and Large Disk Access mode to [DOS]

It does not detect my HD under the Boot setting...

Exit and save.. reboot.. Still.. No HD..

I have tryed a few HDs and have tryed all the jumper settings on the HD..

I MUST be overlooking something simple..

Please help or post you HD problems here for us to all figure out..

Well, seems me problem was with the adapter. It was backwards.. Will not fit correctly the other way. I used a female to male connecter on the board.. Then plugged the cable into the adapter, then plugged a 40 pin cable into the adapter.. It detected the drive with no prob..

Embedding the .img right now.. will let you know of the outcome..
