hey there.. anyone successfully sharing files over a lan using embed98.img and smc ether/usb adapter? i can browse the web over this config, but no luck seeing the computers on my lan (all have the same workgroup name...).

If you are using a different ip address range you will need to go into zonealarm and configure that range into the "localnet" for them to show up. Under advanced settings.

I have seen two versions of an SMC USB Ethernet adapter for sale, the EZNET-USB 10/100 and the SMC 10/100 USB adapter Model 2202. Will the drivers work with both versions? Which version of the SMC USB adapter are you using?

Famewolf: thanks for the fyi... i went to the zonealarm and under advanced needed to select the SMC USB/ETH adapter... the ip range was correct for our network (192.168.1.1 - 192.168.1.255).... as soon as I did this, the other computers showed up!! You, as always, are da bomb.
Jeepguy: I am using the SMC EZNET-USB 10/100 (as printed on the box).. the unit itself has 2202USB/ETH printed on it. I got it from Outpost.com for $37.50 and free shipping.
