I am not a techinical genius, but I did manage to get my Virgin webplayer running with Win98se. I would like to go the next step, and try and make this even more laptop-like. Here is what I was thinking:
1. At RadioShack, buy a 4-AA battery holder (holds 4 1.5 volt AA bateries)
2. Hook up the 4-AA battery holder to a resistor that would take the voltage down to 5 volts.
3. Plug this device into the DC plug in back.
Would this work? If 4 AA batteries were reduced to 5 volts, then sent into the machine, could I get the webplayer to run on batteries? If so, then does anyone know how strong of a resistor I would need?
