I've responded to jeepguy and Tom A's requests for a phone number, (Jesus you guys could give me the benefit of the doubt-- I only read email when I'm in the office, so Friday night / Saturday is typically quiet from me) but that's *really* unfeasible when you start talking about 40 to 70 people, especially on the timeline we've got. I'll let you guys in on a little secret: Boundless is not going to hold their breath waiting for us to get our act together. We've got a connection there as long as there are iBrow units to be moved. Once they're gone, we're out of luck. I might be able to convince Gardener that I'm firm on x units (Monday), but I need a week to collect payments from everyone, so *please* don't sell them before hand, but like I said that's a might. We'll see.
Isaac@pobox.com has found my "real" email address at cornell, jake.schlachter@CORNHELL.edu (slightly misstyped). I've been able to keep that address spam-free for several years and I'd prefer to keep it that way.
The way I'm thinking about Randy's idea for an extra four or five days, if people want to place an order, then they should do it by the time I talk to Gardener on Monday. The main reason I want them to *commit* is so *I* don't get screwed. Then they've got several more days to actually pay me for the units they order. Since I'm a real person I feel confident in my ability to convince them of my status as such, so they've got peace of mind, their order has already been placed, and now they're ready to pay, and no one gets screwed. Everyone's happy.
So now that I'm fairly confident about you guys (or will be, once we've spoken on the phone), do you think this conversation should be moved to the egroups forum, or we should just leave it here? Will it allay others' fears, or fan them?
