I've seen several posts about turning a webplayer into a "laptop"...and wanted to take a moment to comment on this...the webplayer was never intended to be a portable device of that type...it's in TWO pieces...who wants to lug the thing around and try to use it like a laptop with the keyboard being seperate from the rest of it? To those trying to use it in a car as a mp3 player..this makes more sense and there are commonly available DC to DC converters which will step down 12 volts to 5 volts and let you use it from the car cigerette lighter. Running off any sort of "battery pack" your probably only going to get about 1 hours worth of usage as the webplayer sucks high amperage and does NOT use effective power management. These are nice to keep in a car and hook up at someone's house when you want to do some surfing.......comments?
