Internal EtherNet Adapter

Just finished hacking my Webplayer...
I took apart a D-Link USB Ethernet adapter
and found out that the board is almost perfect size to fit the space where the modem
used to be. Drilled a couple of holes in the
case, screwed in a standoff and mounted the board inside. Made a cutout in the back
panel to run the USB cable in (and packed it
in underneath the motherboard).

VOILA! An internal Ethernet adapter!

(next hack... replace the USB connectors on
the MoBo and on the Ethernet board with some header pins and replace the big unwieldy USB cable with a short and sweet ribbon cable.)

I guess this would depend on personal preference but I kind of prefer the portability of the usb adaptor as is...I keep a line on my network open with a usb adaptor so that any pc I'm working on that has a usb port can be networked on the fly..to each their own.
