I was wondering if anyone knows of any software that could be used to flip the screen. I think it would be cool to mount this under a cabinet in the kitchen. I have a feeling this isnt possible, but I just wanted to check.

i just lengthen the cables and physically flipped the screen and put it on a lazy susan mounted underneath the cabinent, you might need to move the if connector so that it face down 15-30 degrees as this was my problem at first (no keyboard when on counter) I also made a little pocket inside the cabinent door above it to hold the keyboard

I will try to post images as soon as I get a chance to tear it down, I need to add a fan anyway and move the usb eth internal (maybe cf also i have the amp conn.) The cable are the display and backlight power, these are easily extend by either entirely replacing them connector to connector or adding extra length, I did the later(my hands shake to much for those small connectors. also the screen screws are in the outside corners on one side and on the other inset like 3 inches so you will have to make new mount points. At first I tried just sitting it in place but it slowly moved and ripped my newly lengthened cable so I hot glued in some metal post that are intented for the older at motherboard(so you can get ground contact and it doesn't slide) worked surprisingly well. Maybe today or tomorrow I can post in place pics

I don't have time for a long drawn out reply, but let me state there is a way to flip the screen image to make windows run upside down. It was used in a screensaver I had awhile back.. It is as simple as capturing the screen, frame by frame, and printing it to the screen upside down. Since I am not a software programmer I can't create a simple "startup" program to do this, but someone with programming knowledge could. Put out the word, get people interested. I am sure someone is up to the challenge.

ok, found a program that can do this. well, i didn't find it, someone in the i-opener forum did. got to www.portrait.com and download their pivot software (its free for 30 days) its meant to rotate the screen to portrait view, but it also has a file called wpflip.exe that will flip the screen. It works on the video card in my scovery, but i do'nt have a webplayer yet to test it on. it worked on the i-openers so i hope it works on the webplayers too. look in the thread inthe iopener forum to get rid of the first nag screen.

I tryed the pivot software on my PC, worked wonderfully, loaded it over the network to my Webplayer, installed it.. rebooted.. and *Bang* Blue screen of death... Not sure if this is just a glitch on my end or not, but wanted to post it here to save the headache for people without a way to reload their DOCs or HDs...

Try this only if you have an easy way to reload your system...

I am uploading this to my server for anyone who wants to test it...

zendick.. If you read the whole post you will get a better idea of all the content. As bloinkster stated when he posted it, "its meant to rotate the screen to portrait view, but it also has a file called wpflip.exe that will flip the screen." I have tryed this on my PC, and it does infact flip your screen upside down when you run the correct file. (The file must be run from the installed directory, there is not shortcut)

Hope this helps.. Happy Hacking...

sorry to revive this but....
I doesn't look like anyone had any positive feedback from this hack. Can someone please respond that this worked for. The "blue screen" fear has got me.

Thanks Numero. Do you have to buy the entire pivot software suite or can you just get the flip portion? They want a lot of money for the pivot program. More than I have invested in the entire project...lol.

Thanks Numero. I tried it on my main system and kept getting "Your configuration has changed, please re-install pivot" after three un-installs and re-installs. I'm running dual monitors, maybe it's confused. I'll try it on a webplayer as soon as I get my ethernet adapter working.
Thanks Again.
