Ok so I was tired and rushed things and I broke one of the pins off my DOC. ALthough my hard drive is installed and happy, I am now looking back at my broken DOC and wondering if there's anything to be done? Any suggestions? There is just the tinniest little nubbin sticking out where the pin used to be. Can I solder anything to it? I've gotten the impression a few of have broken these. Anyone else care to fess up?

SURE! That happened with my websurfer the first time I took the D.O.Cē°°° out. It happened on a corner for me, just couldn't get the flathead screwdriver in all the way. I found soldering a piece on might mess up the D.O.Cē°°° because of all the heat. Heres what I did:

(This may be crud, but it has worked all this time for me)

First I made sure there was nothing left inside the socket.
Then I got a paper clip and bent it out flat in a vise.
Next clean up the clip(i.e. sand).
Then I cut the paper clip about a pin-and-a-half lenght(end to chip and half more).
Now bend the top of the metal to make a L shape and pop it into the socket with the bent side up.
Finally replace the chip slowly, moving the paper clip pin around to make contact with the D.O.Cē°°°.

Tada, well nobodys perfect.
