>>Was the original embed98.img set up on another box and then transferred to the doc? If not, how was the doc prepared prior to installation?
I don't know for a fact, but I suspect he (famewolf) set up his WebPlayer to boot from a HD. Then he used the Window98Micro program to build a Micro 98 that would fit on the DOC. You would need to go to the Win98Lite/Micro website (don't have the URL handy, but I'll find it if necessary) and get their program. I don't have any experience on it. Then use the HD, a Windows disc and a compressed (drivespace) DOC to be able to DIY. I, unfortunately, do not have one of the 48 meg DOCs, mine is only 16, so I cannot give you a step by step, or gladly would. If you post questions, I'll do my best to help you out, however. I think, that since no one is going to be breathing down our necks for tampering with these, we might as well make 'em do whatever we can. I've gotten lots of help with my problems and want to contribute back as much as I can.
Basically your steps would be:
Have a laptop HD booting the Webplayer.
Have it contain all the source files (installers for 98, Opera, etc..., and the 98lite program).
Use drivespace to compress the DOC, giving you a bit more breathing room, make sure it's bootable (DOC utility, program from M-Sys).
Use 98lite to install what you need to the DOC (can't really help you on this one...others should be able to, however).
Install whatever else you plan on using.
